Hi,
I'm using kolab since version 2.0a in late 2005.
I always used it on debian system.

Now I need to install a new version and I'm a bit confused reading about
the many versions available.

If I understand correctly now exists:

1) Kolab 3.4
2) Kolab winterfell
3) Kolab Enterpreise 13
4) Kolab Enterpreise 14
5) Kolab Enterpreise 16

Kolab 3.4 is old and not yet maintained

Kolab winterfell - future upgrade are not guaranteed

Kolab Enterpreise 13 was superseded by Kolab Enterpreise 14

Kolab Enterpreise 14 is for production environment and can run on Debian
systems, but a certificate is needed to install it. Is not clear to me
where this certificate come from.

Kolab Enterpreise 16 is the development environment. At the moment can
run only on Centos and RedHat.

So my question is: which version is better to install for a production
environment and on which operative system? Can I still use Debian or
it'd be better to switch to Centos?

Second question: is it possible to upgrade from Kolab 3.4 to Kolab
Enterprise? If yes to which version?

Finally is there documentation to upgrade paths?

I apologize for so many questions, but I found hard to understand the point.

Thanks in advance

You need to pay Kolab Systems AG for subscription.

There's no such thing as Kolab Enterprise 16. There's Kolab 16. Which is
unified version also for enterprises. In this case, you get the same
code no matter if you payed Kolab Systems or not.

Winterfell is the most recent "for development, likely unstable".

Yes, Centos is better supported. Other distros support is on community
effort and that for is delayed/incomplete.

Upgrade to both Kolab 16 and Kolab Enterprise 14 is possible, but Kolab
16 may not be ready for production yet, especially not on CentOS.

Upgrade to both Kolab 16 and Kolab Enterprise 14 is possible, but Kolab

So I have two opportunity.

- Install Kolab 3.4 on debian or Centos
- Buy Kolab Enterprise 14 and install it on Debian or Centos

In both cases I'll be able to upgrade to Kolab 16 when available.

Thanks

What kind of issues/bugs are there currently with Kolab 16 ?
And are those bugs visible in some public bug tracker ?

Any timeframe when Kolab 16 is expected to be "supported" ?

Thanks,
